The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Peter Drucker

“Seize tomorrow” is the simple definition. However, the message and meaning are much more important than that. The fact is that each of us has only one future. It is ours to define and design.

In lieu of just spending time – invest wisely. Create your future as you want it to be. Carpe Mañana!

warning: strtotime(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. Aretha was right - Maslow was wrong!

Since this is an opinion only - let me explain.

Aretha not only celebrated “it,” I believe she linked her personal and professional brand to “it.” Maslow on the other hand didn’t ignore "it" but he did not prioritize "it" as maybe he could or should. The “it” I’m talking about is RESPECT.

One definition: Respect - 1 a: to consider worthy of high regard: Esteem b: to refrain from interfering with 2: to have reference to: Concern

Planning is like making jigsaw puzzle!

What follows were the introductory notes for a Workbook on stategic planning developed many years ago. It still has practical application today. I discovered this while searching through the "dust bins" of my computer a few days ago.

The leaders of many organizations and the members of those organizations do not understand the Process of Planning. For this and other reasons (too busy, no urgent need, status quo is working, etc.) formal plans are not developed.

"Like Sand through an Hourglass..."

With apologies to all of you soap opera lovers - “Like sand through an hourglass so are the days of Health Care Reform.” Since 1994 I’ve used the hour glass as a metaphor for our Health Care (HC) and HC Financing (HCF) systems.

In the next few months the TV lobbying / advertising drama (being played out in one minute snippets by the reformers and the status quo advocates) will resemble soap operas. So like the days our lives - will be the days of Health Care Reform.

Look Before You Leap. Measure Twice Cut Once. A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned

Health Care (HC) and Health Care Financing (HCF) should be and will be reformed in the near future. This is necessary since our current systems cannot be sustained because of their existing costs and inevitable trends of inflation. Before we act however, we should consider the wisdom of the ages offered above.
